Universal Need for the One True Savior

The Lord Jesus Christ is our only hope for salvation!

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
As a result of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, all men are now hopeless sinners. We have inherited Adam’s sin nature and all of its consequences at our natural birth. Because of his disobedience, Adam lost his innocence and was plunged into the depths of sin.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

This would lead to a vicious newcomer in the life of Adam and all of his descendants – DEATH!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death…

Adam’s life, as well as all of our lives would be void of any spiritual blessing and end in bitter disappointment.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Having no standing with the Holy God of Creation, we as sinners began to look to the Creation itself as our source of blessing. This behavior always leads sinners to dream-up false gods and to search out ways of becoming gods themselves.

Romans 1:21-32 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

As sinners, we looked to the blessings of Creation for our happiness, but, alas, to no avail. Instead of growing higher, we plunged lower, proving that a life without our Creator is absolutely no life at all.
The ultimate future for Adam and his race (all mankind) was an eternity in a place called Hell.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
This is why I thank God for His, “unspeakable gift” (2 Corinthians 8:9)! The Lord Jesus humbled Himself, set aside His glory with the Father, descended to the womb of a woman, was born a man, was tempted without failing, healed the sick, raised the dead and most of all, He died on the cross in my behalf (Philippians 2:6-10; Luke 2:11; Matthew 4:1-11; Acts 2:22; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21). In John 3:36, we learn that the wrath of God abides on every sinner, but the Lord Jesus took the wrath of God’s holiness toward sin for us! How? By becoming sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21)! My life and future rest completely in the Hands of the One who died for me, rose again, and is now sitting at the right hand of the throne of God in Heaven!

Do you know Him?  Has He come to you by way of a heavenly reproof concerning your sin?  Have you trusted Him and Him alone by faith in His perfect work (Death, Burial and Resurrection)?  Has He broken the chains of sin’s power over your life?  Can you hoestly say that you have been washed of your sins?
